Lingusamy not afraid of Nanban?

The film Vettai directed by Lingusamy is being released on Pongal day. This has been officially confirmed. Lingusamy who had earlier directed films like Anandham, Run, Sandai Kozhi, Bheema and Paiyya is now directing a film titled Vettai.

This film has Madhavan, Arya, Amala Paul and Sameera Reddy in the lead roles. Lingusamy’s brother is producing this film under the banner Tirupathi Brothers. This film is based on the emotional struggle between two brothers and two sisters. The shooting of the film commenced in Karaikudi and continued to take place in various cities.

The shooting of this film is in final stages. There was already news that the film is to be released on Pongal day. Now this has been officially confirmed. UTV Motion Pictures who are releasing this film have officially announced that they are releasing the film on Pongal day. Vettai will be an action packed entertainer like Lingusamy’s earlier films. It is expected that Shankar’s ‘Nanban’ is also scheduled to hit screens on the same festive occasion.

Will Vijay and Ajith work together for Selvaraghavan?

Selvaraghavan’s recently released film “Mayakkam Enna” Starring Dhanush and Richa is doing very well in the box office.

Selvaraghavan had recently mentioned that he has already readied a story which can have Vijay and Ajith in the lead roles.

He said that he is interested in doing of different genre films instead of ordinary commercial films. He proved that too through his films.

His next film is Erandam Ulagam which has Arya and Anuska in the lead roles. Next he is going to direct "Aayirathil Oruvan" part 2 by next year.

Yuvan Shankar Raja is his best music director in his opinion. He said that both will work together for his next film soon.

Selva says to the media, “Many are asking me that when I am going to direct Vijay and Ajith. I have decided to cast both of them in my film. The script for that film is also ready”.

Eventhough Selva has no immediate plans to direct Ajith-Vijay and he is concentrating on his next venture, we can expect only that it will happen soon.

Ilayathalapathy Should sing'-G V Prakash has plans of making actor Vijay sing in his upcoming film 

For fans of the Ilayathalapathy,here's some good news.We understand that Vijay might croon a song in his upcoming film with director A L Vijay,the music of which will be scored by G V Prakash.Says the composer,"Vijay should sing for the film;I adore his voice and would love to use it." 

Now much has been disclosed about this project,which is likely to kickstart once the Ilayathalapathy gets done with Thuppaki and Vijay with Thandavam.Prakash is the latest to join this crew,who has confirmed that he's thrilled to be composing for this prestigious project.

‘Ilaya Thalapathy’ Vijay to Do a Film with Director Vijay!

After releasing Shankar’s ‘Nanban’ and completing his next film ‘Thuppaki’ with A R Murugadoss and Gautham Menon’s ‘Yohan:

Athyayam Ondru’, ‘Ilaya Thalapathy’ Vijay is likely to get cast in director A L Vijay’s yet-to-be-titled film. 

The one-line that director Vijay had narrated was very much liked by Vijay and he was more than happy to sign the film as it not only had Vijay’s favourite action sequences Vijay’s character also demands big performance for the film. It is said that director Vijay has already finalized the music director, his favourite G V Prakash Kumar, and Nirav Shah for cinematography. Heroine and other cast and crew are yet to be finalized. 

Director is starting his next film ‘Thaandavam’ with ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram, Anushka and Jagapathi Babu in the lead roles.

Venkat Prabhu busy in writing script for Suriya

After the big success of Ajith starrer ‘Mankatha’, the film’s director Venkat Prabhu is getting ready for his next big film.

It is learnt that the actor-turned director is writing his script seriously for the upcoming film that he is doing it with Suriya. The film has two heroes and Suriya is to play along with Telugu star Ravi Teja. “The film is a buddy cop story that Suriya and Ravi Teja play the lead characters. I have started writing the script and the film will go on floors once Suriya finishes his present commitments. Studio Green is producing the film,” says the director, who is celebrating the 100th day of his film ‘Mankatha’.

Suriya is currently acting in K V Anand’s ‘Maatran’ and after this he will do ‘Singam 2’ with director Hari.

Nanban and Billa 2 most expected films of 2012: Survey Results

A popular Tamil magazine conducted a poll to find out the most expected film of 2012. Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiyaan, Kamal Haasan’s Viwaroopam, Vijay’s Nanban, Ajith’s Billa 2, Arya’s Vettai, Silambarasan’s Vettai Mannan and Danush’s 3 were in fray to scale the first place.
Of all these films, Vijay’s Nanban reached the top spot with 1,19, 668 votes while Ajith’s Billa 2 followed it with 1,08,339 votes. Looks that these two are the hottest picks of 2012.

"Kolaveri" bags You Tube golden Award.!!

The song Why this kolaveri di  from Aishwarya Dhanush’s debut film 3, starring Dhanush and Shruti Haasan, has gone viral worldwide. No Tamil film song has created such a wave in the international audio market.

The catchy tune has been composed by Anirudh, the 21-year-old debutant music director. While news of the song leaked online did its rounds, the makers decided to launch it as a single track. It proved to be a great decision as the song took the nation by storm.

The making of Kolaveri Di was uploaded on YouTube, and within hours it went viral. The trippy number got nearly 17 million views and caught the imagination of the youth who made it a sort of anthem. 
Now, You Tube has honoured the track with a Gold Award for getting the most number of hits. The prestigious TIME magazine wrote – “Perhaps the ballad’s universal theme is part of its appeal – apparently it’s about a guy who’s been dumped by his girlfriend. The song is also notable for its pretty nonsensical use of words, employing a unique language probably best described as 'Tamglish' – mixing Tamil and English.”

GV Prakash to do music for Ilayathalapathy's film.!

GV Prakash is on cloud nine.

He has signed up his first movie which will star the one and only IlayathalapathyVijay. 

GV himself has tweeted that he has received the advance from the producer to score music for the film.
The details given by the hot and happening music director is that the untitled Vijay film will be directed by AL Vijay for producer Chandra Prakash Jain, a leading financier.
The AL Vijay directed film is likely to start mid-2012. Meanwhile,Ilayathalapathy Vijay has started shooting for AR Murgadoss directedThupakki  in Mumbai.

It is not clear whether Vijay would start his next film with AL Vijay or Gautham Menon. 

Who is acting in the Hindi remake of "KO"?

Despite being busy directing the Suriya starrer Matraan, KV Anand is focused on remaking Ko in Hindi. Producers RS Infotainment were in talks with a leading star in Bollywood to play the lead role in this remake but that did not materialize.
Following this, Ranbir Kapoor was approached for the role essayed by Jiiva in the original and he had agreed to join hands with KV Anand. Ranbir understands that Tamil remakes are selling like hot cakes in Bollywood and it would be a good idea to star in a remake.

Mankatha creates History.!

Mankatha has reached the landmark 100^th day today, December 8^th, 2011. The film hit the screens on August 31^st and it was one of the biggest opening ever for Ajith. Mankatha had Ajith essaying a role with shades of grey and teaming up with him were Arjun, Premji Amaren, Mahat Ragavendra and others.

3 Idiots goes to Hollywood

3 Idiots starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi is clearly a landmark film in Indian cinema. Having smashed records at the box office, the film is being remade in Tamil as Nanban starring Vijay, Jiiva, Srikanth and Ileana and directed by Shankar. Now Hollywood is eyeing the project, we hear. Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and has confirmed that he is in talks with three major studios about this project.
The film will be released in China next week and it is expected to do great business since it has already been well received in Hong Kong. In fact, it is also going to be remade in Chinese with Stephen Chow, the maker of Kung Fu Hustle in the director's seat. Kudos to the 3 Idiots team and director Rajkumar Hirani.

Vijay's Thupakki begins today

Shooting for Vijay and AR Murugadoss's film, Thuppaki has begun today in Mumbai. The first schedule will be completed there. Kajal Agarwal is the heroine of this film. The crew is comprised of heavyweights like Santhosh Sivan, Thotta Tharani, and Sreekar Prasad. Harris Jeyaraj will be doing the music.
There have been reports that Vijay is playing a cop in the film but both Vijay and Murugadoss are being highly reticent about plot details. Vettai dates confirmed

The audio launch function of Vettai is scheduled to be held on December 16^th at 6:30 pm. The venue for this event will be the Anna Centenary Library Hall. Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music director of this film and he has come out with some excellent scores, we hear.
Lingusamy has a penchant for music and Yuvan gives his best when working with this director. Their earlier venture together Paiyya, was a musical treat and Vettai is also expected to be the same.
The film, which will be released on Pongal 2012, stars Arya, Madhavan, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul in the lead roles.

Vishnuvardhan to start Ajith’s film

Director Vishnuvardhan is getting ready for the release of his Telugu film Panjaa, starring Power Star Pawan Kalyan. He has said that after this film hits the screens, he will begin the work for his next project starring Ajith.
The director was to have teamed up with Ajith for Billa 2, but the delay forced him to opt out and move on to Panjaa. Eventually, Chakri Toleti is directing Ajith in Billa 2 and the film is expected to hit the screens in April 2012.
When Ajith is free of Billa 2, he will join Vishnuvardhan’s camp, say sources.

Ajith Kumar's 53rd movie on the way

We have reported earlier that Ajith Kumar would be working on prestigious banner of late producer Nagi Reddy, Vijaya Productions. The latest news about the movie is that the production house has officially announced the project by giving ads on paper.

The forthcoming movie is produced by B Bharathi Reddy. The untitled is directed by Shiva of Siruthaifame. The makers of the film are planning to rope in Anushka Shetty to pair up with Ajith Kumar. While Vetri has been roped in to handle the camera, Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music director. The proposed project will take off in mid-2012.

Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar is busy with his 51st projectBilla 2. After the completion of this film, he will kick-start his other project made by AM Rathnam, directed by Vishnuvardhan.

Kolaveri di has taken the nation by storm with some of the most hot and happening celebs raving about it. But the song's biggest fan is Rajinikanth and he is proud of his daughter, Aishwarya and son - in - law, Dhanush.
Dhanush and Aishwarya were touched when he praised the song and their work on the film, 3. They requested him to be a part of the song when they filmed it and he has accepted graciously. So we can expect to see the Superstar make a small but special appearance for this song.

Kalaipuli S Thanu who is producing the Vijay starrer Thupakki has registered the title which indicates that the AR Murugadoss directed film is confirmed of this name. Also, the director has roped in National Award winner Sreekar Prasad for editing and Thotta Dharani for art direction.
Santosh Sivan is the director of photography, it has been announced already. The film will go on floors today, December 5^th, in Mumbai, say sources. Vijay is paired up with Kajal Agarwal and there are a lot of expectations building around this film as it has some very popular names in the film industry in its crew.

Aamir Khan for Nanban audio launch

Makers of Nanban, Hindi remake of 3 Idiots adapted from the best selling Chetan Bhagat book, are trying to bring Aamir Khan and director Rajkumar Hirani for the audio launch event. The event, scheduled to be held on the 14th of December in Nehru Stadium, Chennai is expected to be in a grandiose manner.

Although there is no official consent from Khan or Hirani, producers of Nanban are trying to persuade them to come over to boost the film's publicity. After the audio launch, the movie will hit the screens on January 14, according to sources.

Selva to do Aayirathil Oruvan 2 with Dhanush?

Director Selvaraghavan has said that he has plans to do a sequel to Aayirathil Oruvan with Dhanush. The original ended with Karthi escaping with the Chozha prince. Aayirathil Oruvan 2 will chronicle the adventures of this prince and Dhanush will be doing this role. Selva said that if his brother can give him bulk dates, the project will begin soon.
As to whether, Karthi will be seen in the sequel, Selva just smiled and said that it remains to be seen. This project will be produced by their father, Kasthuri Raja. It will be a rollicking adventure, Selva promised.

Why there wouldn’t be a 100th day function for Mankatha

There will be no 100^th day function for Mankatha, said Dayanidhi Alagiri, the producer of the film. He clarified that it is well-known that Ajith would not attend public functions and therefore he will not attend the function even if it is held.
Without the film’s hero, a 100^th day function will not seem proper, said Dayanidhi Alagiri. Apart from Ajith’s principle not to attend public functions, the star is also not able to attend the function because he would be shooting for Billa 2 when Mankatha reaches its 100^thday, say sources in Kollywood.

Kamal’s new get-up in Viswaroopam

Kamal Haasan will appear as an Afghani in Viswaroopam, report sources in Kollywood. The star is known for experimenting with his roles and this time around has decided on an Afghani get-up to awe his fans.
He is not only playing the lead role in Viswaroopam but happens to be the director as well. Pooja Kumar, Isha Sharwani and Andrea play the lead role in this film which is said to be based on terrorism and terrorists.

Telugu star shares screen space with Vikram

Vikram’s upcoming film Thandavam, which is to be directed by AL Vijay, just got stronger with Telugu star Jagapathy Babu joining the team as the second hero. This was revealed by UTV Motion Pictures’ Dhananjayan. UTV Motion Pictures is producing Thandavam which will start rolling from December onwards.
Thandavam is a complete commercial film and has therefore created a sense of anticipation among Vikram’s fans. Music for this film is to be scored by GV Prakash.

Can fans get Ajith to agree?

Producer Dhayanidhi Alagiri had said that there will be no 100^th-day function for Mankatha because Ajith will not attend it. As a policy, the star never attends public functions and there is no point in organizing a function without the lead star, Dhayanidhi had said.
The producer has now said that if Ajith fans can get him to agree to participate in the 100^th-day function, he will organize a grand function. Dhayanidhi added that if only Ajith agrees to grace the event he would arrange for a function that would be the grandest in the Tamil film industry so far!

Maatraan, almost ready

Suriya's Maatraan is aiming at an early 2012 release, in the month of April to be precise. Anand, who has earlier had a blockbuster with Suriya, is leaving no stones unturned to ensure that the movie does not skip its release schedule. Shooting of this action thriller is being held in Chennai, after a brief schedule in Moscow, Russia making it one of the very few Indian movies to shoot there.

Maatraan has Kajal Aggarwal playing Suriya's lead. Made at a whopping budget and produced by AGS Entertainment, Maatraan will have Harris Jayaraj's music.

Vijay's "Thupaakki" in trouble

Although title for the Vijay - A R Murugadoss upcoming film is decided as Thupaakki, it seems the same title will see some trouble in Telugu. The movie is a bilingual and according to sources close to the director, the title Thupaakki is already registered with the Telugu Films Chamber by Jinka Harish Babu.

Also, it seems Jinka Harish Babu is unwilling to part with the title as his movie is already underway. The movie focuses on terrorism and Harish wants the title that somewhat describes the storyline. While there are no immediate announcements from the Murugadoss stable about the title trouble, it's likely that Murugadoss will want to buy out Thupaakki from Harish.
