Protest against Surya, Murugadoss for 7am Arivu

7am Arivu had many dialogues that are pro-Tamil in nature. Interestingly, these dialogues have been censored in Sri Lanka where the film has been released this Deepavali.

Terming the decision by the 7am Arivuteam to agree to these censor cuts as ‘double standards’, the Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) has wrote to Surya, director Murugadoss and producer Udhayanidhi Stalin condemning their stance.

The makers of the film have been boasting here that their film highlights Tamils and their culture. But the sad truth is this very set of people have agreed to cuts by the Sri Lankan government on the dialogues that speak of the Tamil cause. This shows that they are not at all concerned with the welfare of Tamils. It is only raking in huge profits that they seem to care about, they stated in the latter.

Velayutham Replaces 7Aum Arivu in Chennai Theatre

A trade source says that Velayudham opened in lesser number of screens than 7aum Arivu, but collections were so good that number of screens increased.

The latest we hear is that Velayudham has replaced 7aum Arivu in the second week at Kamala theatre in Chennai.

As per official figures released by the producers, Velayudham has collected Rs 40 crore in five days (Oct 26 to 30) worldwide from approximately 830 screens.

No Velayudham in Ooty!

While Vijay’s ‘Velayudham’ is making high waves across all the regions, it’s a big disappoint for the Ilayathalapathy Vijay fans. It’s an appalling situation as none of the theatres in hilly region have released the film.
While rest of the films have made a bigger opening that include Shahrukh Khan’s Ra One and Surya-Shruti Hassan starrer 7am Arivu, the reason is still unknown.

Velayudham directed by Jayam Raja is released with 500 prints with more than 100 theatres in Kerala and Karnataka. But again, not finding a single theatre in its own territory literally dashes down everyone’s hopes.

7th Sense & Velayutham Collection Details

7aum Arivu and Velayutham collections for the first five days have been declared by trade sources. It is said that 7aum Arivu has grossed 40.25 crores from October 25th and Velayutham has grossed 40 crores from October 26th onwards.
Both Suriya and Vijay are excited over these figures because the competition is still neck and neck and looks like this competition will end in a draw.
Velayutham has Vijay, Hansika and Genelia in the lead while in 7aum Arivu it is Suriya and Shruti Haasan as the lead pair.
