'7aum Arivu'- What went wrong?- A Special Analysis

7aum Arivu will be one of the best example of what mistakes you should not do when you are attempting to make a classic!

The script of 7aum Arivu is a class apart and had all the potentials to take Tamil cinema and present itself to the world and create a swashbuckling character and execute a franchise. The intention of Mr. AR Murugadoss has to be specially applauded and his execution is also top notch matching international standards with top notch performances from the all involved, however, he compromised or misjudged 2 important aspects while making 7aum Arivu and it clearly shows the difference.

I was analyzing then what went wrong?

All critics unanimously wrote off the movie within the first 3 hours of its release and world over fans ofSuriya and AR Murugadoss were updating statuses that the movie is good and not as bad as it has been reviewed...and trying to save the movie with all their love and support....again I was wondering what went wrong ?...

Finally I managed to watch the movie @ Devi Paradise, Chennai and I must admit that I did enjoy the movie but in parts and was left with some kind of an incompleteness. It was like smelling very tasty food and while eating not feeling the same. Twenty minutes into the movie and I started sensing that the director had lost his chance of crafting a masterpiece. I was mesmerized by the introduction of the character "Bhodi Dharma" and completely fascinated by the informative proceedings, however, I just could not relate to that powerful character "Bhodi Dharma". Why, the musical score simply failed to strike the right chord and take this character to an all new level nor find a place in my mind to sculpture this character as a cult one. The music - BG score just let down the character "Bhodi Dharma" and AR Murugadoss from making a classic.

Background music is the heart of any film and it decides how much it can strike a chord with the audience and this was the biggest stake and deciding factor, from making a movie a normal one or a classic. There are scenes where Ilayaraja simply talks with your mind with his BG Score (Watch Mouna Raagam to Pithamagan or the latest Paa and you will understand what I am saying here). AR Rahman taking your visual experience to an all new level with his BG score in films like Lagaan, Guru, Vinnathandi Varuvaaya, Slumdog Millionaire and Jodha Akhbar is another example. Harris Jayaraj did the same with Kaakha Kaakha and Vaaranam Aayiram, where his BG score simply added more color to the proceedings. Spiderman, Superman, James Bond, Dhoom, Krishh, Don, Sarkar, our own Billa in Tamil can be taken forward to a franchise because of a phenomenal musical connect with the audience. The BG score of these movies start playing in our minds just when you look at a paper poster of these films.

Coming to the second big let down from the movie which I am sure will find many dislikes for their biased views. As the penultimate reels of the movie started to play and just before the final showdown, I for the first time realized the importance of casting and screen presence of the lead actor to pull off a character and take it to an all new level. If "Bodhi Dharma" had to achieve half the silver screen success of Chulbul Pandey then AR Murugadoss should have looked beyond his emotions and comfort zone and chosen a person like Vikram or the legendary Kamal Haasan to make 7aum Arivu a classic. Suriya, for sure is one of the good and upcoming actors in Tamil cinema and you can surely pull off a Vel or Singam where with supersedes Charisma and make Kaakha Kaakha, Vaaranam Aayiram where music and Gautham's execution supersedes charisma. These movies require a director's actor and a person who connects with the audience as a normal person and does not require to set the screen ablaze and take the character to another level for the audience to enjoy and be entertained. Suriya's strength lies in his hard work, dedication and fitting into the director's vision of a character and I am sure anyone in his place would have accepted the challenge to portray 'Bodhidarma' and he still did a good job, however, it is just that certain characters need raw charisma and he should understand that he does not possess one and play to his strengths in future.

Akhbar, Gadar, Chulbul Pandey, Don, Nayakan, Thalapathy, Iron Man, James Bond, Baasha, Virumaandi, Billa, Bheema, Dhool are movies where the hero sets the silver screen ablaze with his raw charisma superseding all other aspects of a film as a package and maybe, Bodhidarma would have featured here if it was pulled off by a Kamal or Vikram, unfortunately, AR Murugadoss's casting compromise or misjudgment let us all miss a masterpiece.

Aamir Khan can never pull off a Dabangg and similarly, Suriya can never pull off a Bodhidarma, and this does not mean they are inferior to any, they should play to their strengths and keep moving forward and deliver good movies and entertain in their own way.

Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar and Brian Lara co-exist in the same format where there are blockbuster entertainers like Sanath Jayasuriya, Virendar Shewag and Shahid Afridi who give you more entertainment for your time on a particular given day but fewer times than the former list.

 

My intention of this article is not to criticize Mr. AR Murugadoss, Mr. Suriya and Mr. Harris Jayaraj and their fans but to make them all understand that we expect them to entertain us with world class films and do not want to see them falter in future.

சிம்பு நடிக்கும் 'ஒஸ்தி' படத்தில் வில்லனாக நடித்தவர் சோனு தூத். வில்லனாக மட்டுமல்லாமல் 'ஒஸ்தி' படத்தில் இடம்பெறும் 'கலசலா..' என்ற பாடலில் மல்லிகா ஷெராவத்துடன் இணைந்து ஆடி இருக்கிறார்.

இந்தியில் முதன்முறையாக சோனு தூத் தயாரிப்பாளர் அவதாரம் எடுத்து இருக்கிறார். படத்தின் பெயர் ' LUCKY UNLUCKY '. இப்படத்திலும் அவருடன் மல்லிகா ஷெராவத் இணைந்து நடித்து வருகிறார்.

இந்நிலையில்,  'கில்லி'  படத்தில் இடம்பெற்ற 'அப்படிப் போடு போடு..'  பாடலை தனது தயாரிப்பில் உருவாகி இருக்கும் 'LUCKY UNLUCKY' படத்திற்காக வாங்கி இருக்கிறார். சோனு தூத்.

இது குறித்து சோனு தூத் " அப்படிப் போடு பாடலின் உரிமையை வாங்கி இருக்கிறேன். இசையமைப்பாளர் வித்யாசாகர் இந்தி படத்திற்கு ஏற்ப அப்பாடலின் இசையை மாற்றி வருகிறார்.

'அப்படிப் போடு' பாடல் எனக்கு மிகவும் பிடிக்கும். நான் தயாரிக்கும் படத்திற்கு இப்பாடல் SOUTH INDIAN FLAVOUR சேர்க்கும் " என்று கூறி இருக்கிறார்.

' கலசலா ' பாடலை தொடர்ந்து ' அப்படிப் போடு ' பாடலுக்கும் மல்லிகா ஷெராவத்துடன் இணைத்து ஆட இருக்கிறார் சோனு தூத்.

பாட்ஷா ரீமேக் படத்தில் அஜீத் நடிக்க ரசிகர்கள் விருப்பம்!

பில்லா-2' படத்தில் நடித்து வரும் அஜீத் அடுத்ததாக விஷ்ணுவர்த்தன் இயக்கத்தில் நடிக்க இருக்கிறார். அப்படத்தினை தொடர்ந்து நாகிரெட்டி தயாரிக்கும் அஜீத் படத்தினை 'சிறுத்தை' படத்தினை இயக்கிய சிவா இயக்கலாம் என்று கூறி வருகிறார்கள்.

ரஜினி நடித்த 'பில்லா' படத்தின் ரீமேக்கில் அஜீத் நடித்தார். அப்படம் பெரும் வரவேற்பை பெற்றது. அதனை தொடர்ந்து அஜீத் ரசிகர்கள், அஜீத் அடுத்ததாக எந்த ரஜினி பட ரீமேக்கில் நடிக்கலாம் என ORKUT, FACEBOOK ஆகிய வலைதளங்களில் கருத்து கணிப்பு நடத்தினார்கள்.

அவர்கள் நடத்திய கருத்து கணிப்பில் ரஜினி நடித்த 'பாட்ஷா' படத்திற்கு அதிக வாக்குகள் கிடைத்து இருக்கிறது. பில்லா படத்தை போலவே 'பாட்ஷா' படத்தின் ரீமேக்கிலும் அஜீத் நடிக்க வேண்டும் என்று அவரிடம் கருத்து தெரிவித்து இருக்கிறார்கள் அஜீத் ரசிகர்கள்.

'பில்லா' படத்தின் துவக்க விழாவில் ரஜினி கலந்து கொண்டு அஜீத்திற்கு வாழ்த்து தெரிவித்தார். அஜீத் நடிக்கும் 'பாட்ஷா' பட போஸ்டருக்காக ஆவலுடம் காத்திருக்கிறது 'தல' ரசிகர் கூட்டம்.

ஆரம்பகாலத்தில் காதலை மையமாகக் கொண்ட கதைக்களங்களில் நடித்து வந்தார் விஜய். 'பூவே உனக்காக' , ' காதலுக்கு மரியாதை' போன்ற படங்களில் நடித்து வந்தவரை கமர்ஷியல் பாதையில் முழுமையாக திரும்பிய படம் 'திருமலை'. அப்படத்திற்கு கிடைத்த வரவேற்பால் தொடர்ந்து கமர்ஷியல் படங்களில் நடிக்க ஆரம்பித்தார்.

'திருமலை' படத்தினை தொடர்ந்து 'கில்லி', 'மதுர', 'திருப்பாச்சி', 'சிவகாசி', 'ஆதி', 'போக்கிரி', 'குருவி', 'வில்லு', 'வேட்டைக்காரன்', 'சுறா', 'வேலாயுதம்' என நடித்த பல படங்கள் கமர்ஷியல் படங்கள். இடையில் 'சச்சின்', 'காவலன்' என சில படங்கள் மட்டுமே வேறு கதை களங்களில் நடித்தார்.

விஜய் நடிப்பில் அடுத்ததாக வெளிவர இருக்கும் படங்கள் அனைத்துமே விஜய்யின் நடிப்பை வெளிப்படுத்தும் வகையில் அமைய இருப்பதாக, விஜய் ரசிகர்கள் பெரும் உற்சாகத்தில் இருக்கிறார்கள்.

ஷங்கர் இயக்கும் 'நண்பன்' படத்தில் விஜய்க்கு சண்டை காட்சிகள் எதுவுமே இல்லாமல் முழுக்க காமெடியில் பட்டைய கிளப்பி இருக்கிறாராம். ஏ.ஆர்.முருகதாஸ் இயக்கத்தில் நடிக்க இருக்கும் படத்தில் கூட இதுவரை பார்க்காத விஜய்யை பார்க்கலாம் என்கிறது படக்குழு.

ஏ.ஆர்.முருகதாஸ் படத்தினை முடித்துவிட்டு கெளதம் மேனன் இயக்கும் 'யோஹன்' படத்தில் நடிக்க இருக்கிறார். அப்படத்தில் இன்டர்நேஷனல் ஏஜென்ட்டாக நடிக்க இருக்கிறார்.

விஜய்யை வெவ்வேறு பரிமாணங்களில் அடுத்த அடுத்த படங்களில் பார்க்க இருப்பதால், வலைதளங்களில் அவரது  ரசிகர்கள் மத்தியில் அதுகுறித்து கருத்து பரிமாற்றம் நடைபெற்று வருகிறது.

Shzzzzzzaapa ippavae kanna kettuthae...!!! What else we can say, the hot buzz going around Vijay - AR Murugadoss film is who is going to pair with Vijay.
Already Murugadoss in his social network said Priya Anand is confirmed as one heroine and it was said they talking with leading actress for the second pair. It is just few hours back KolyInsider released the news thatTalks with ​Sonam Kapoor for Vijay in Murugadoss film. Now the latest we hear is Kajal Agarwal is the choice.

We had earlier reported that Priya Anand being signed as the heroine , because of difference of opinion and availability of dates , A.R.Murugadoss has replaced her with Kajal Agarwal . According to the latest buzz the movie has been titled as “Thuppaki”  but A.R.Murugadoss refused to comment on the title.

Kajal can barely believe it. It can’t get bigger than this for the Punjabi lass! Yes, we’re talking about Kajal Aggarwal, who’s got a prize catch —- Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay's next film directed by A.R. Murugadoss.

Though several names including Priyanka Chopra and Priya Anand were tossed around, the opportunity to romance Vijay on-screen has fallen into Kajal’s lap.

Sources say that the leggy lass, who’s on a high after her Bollywood debut hit Singham with Ajay Devgan, was on cloud nine after signing the film on Tuesday with mass hero Vijay.

She is the only lucky girl to sizzle with two K’town biggies simultaneously — Suriya in Maatran and Vijay in this untitled flick. Her Tollywood career is also looking up with two films — one with Mahesh Babu and another with her Magadheera costar Ram Charan Teja.

A source reveals that the movie, which is produced by Vijay’s dad S.A. Chandrashekar, is set in Mumbai and will be shot extensively in the business capital.

Reportedly it will go on the floors from December 1. Santhosh Sivan will handle the camera and Harris Jayaraj is expected to score the tracks. 

Talks with ​Sonam Kapoor for Vijay in Murugadoss film

It looks like Angelina Johnson the Kingfisher Calendar girl who was initially chosen as Ilayathalapathy Vijay's heroine for his next film Maalai Nerathu Mazhaithuli to be directed by AR Murgadoss has been dropped.

The Kollywood grapevine is abuzz that the Bollywood beauty Sonam Kapoor has replaced her though there is nothing official about it.

The Bollywood buzz is that Sonam has confirmed the AR Murugadoss’s action adventure, Maalai Nerathu Mazhaithuli (tentative title).

Vijay during his live chat on us had said- “Yes, as reported in kollyinsider.com, we had done a photoshoot with Angela, but due to some dates issue we had to look out for another heroine”

A Mumbai source reveals, “The producers were very keen to rope in Sonam as they felt she had the look to carry off the role. When they approached her with the script, she loved it and agreed to be part of the film”.


It will be Sonam`s first Tamil film and she has got a dream debut of being cast opposite Vijay and being directed by Ghajini fame AR Murgadoss with camera by internationally reputed cinematographer Santosh Sivan.


We also know that the director said the Priya Anand to pair Vijay and they are looking for another heroine for the movie. Lets wait for the official announcement whether it is Priyanka Chopara or Sonam Kapoor to romance with Vijay along side Priya Anand.

Ajith changed CS Amudhan's 'Thalavalli' to Rendavathu Padam

Ajith who was mostly called as Thala gave a shock to a director. Ajith who is shooting for his Billa 2 in outskirts came to hear about a director who was trying to make fun of his fan given title Thala.

The director is Tamil Padam fame CS Amudhan, at first he kept the title Thalavalli for his second venture. Stating that it would be a spoof on Thala and IlayaThalapathy.


So fans of Ajith who fondly calls their star as Thala got heated up, and this news spread widely and reached the star himself. So he made a call to director Amudhan and said “i don’t mind making fun of me, but my fans will be heart broken”. So kindly try to switch over to some other title thala, he requested. Seeing Ajith’s great gesture the director got shocked and changed the film title to “Irandavathu Padam” with Vimal in the lead and also regretted for the inconvenience caused.

Vijay or Suriya? WHO IS THE BOSS.?

Only both these actors’ films got released for Diwali. Other films those were to see their release during the festival time postponed their dates fearing sandwiching between these two biggies!

Vijay now commands around Rs. 20 Crores and Suriya Rs. 15 + remake rights as their salary. Vijay is Mass hero liked by kids and young men. Suriya is liked by both young men and women, and also elders and kids. Vijay’s big pluses are his dance movements and comedy acting. Suriya’s is intense characters, big acting talent and his hard work. He can deliver both character and heroic acts! Vijay is Mass hero and Suriya is Class actor… So, who is the best? That’s the big question now the K-town and the industry trade is betting!

Nanban audio expected to be release on Dec 10th

 It’s a great year for Vijay and Harris Jayaraj as they have been streaking success in their own respective arenas.Well they’re coming together for the first time in Shankar’s ‘Nanban’. Harris Jayaraj has managed to churn out chartbusters one after the other.

Harris Jayaraj is now working on the final mix of the album and the master copy will be ready somewhere by next couple of weeks. As the producers are planning to release the film on January 14 for Pongal, Kollywood sources says that the music is likely to hit audio stores by 10th of December as they need at least a month gap between the audio and theatrical release.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan delivers a baby girl

Abhishek and Aishwarya are now a proud parents of a cute baby girl. The biggest Bollywood news this year has just been delivered. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has delivered a baby girl today at Mumbai's Seven Hills Hospital.


Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan have become proud parents of a baby girl. The actress gave birth to a girl this morning at the Seven Hills hospital in Andheri, a western Mumbai [ Images ] suburb.

An ecstatic Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, "I AM DADA to the cutest baby girl !!" While first-time dad Abhishek tweeted, "IT'S A GIRL!!!!!! :)))))"

Ash was accompanied to the hospital by her parents Vrinda and Krishnaraj Rai, brother Aditya, husband Abhishek and in-laws Amitabh, Jaya and Shweta Nanda.

The news of Ash's pregnancy was broken by Amitabh Bachchan through Twitter in June this year. As Bollywood's first family and their well-wishers celebrated the Big B received over 2000 congratulatory tweets the same day and people thronged the Bachchan residence in Juhu to celebrate.

The Bachchans chose a suburban hospital for the delivery, presumably to avoid media glare. While TV news channels, on their part, had agreed to stay away from the developments, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry had ordered television media not to park their vans outside the hospital.

Bachchan was questioned about having asked the I&B ministry to intervene in the matter. To which, he replied: 'HaHa ! Print MidDay asking if I have told I&B Ministry to block media news of Aish delivery ! Absolute rubbish ! Good try MDay ! &B and media matter ! Firstly I have no such intention ever, secondly do you really think I&B would listen to me !?? No way baby !'

Ash and Abhishek got together during the filming of Guru and got married in a glitzy ceremony in 2007 in the presence of the family's closest friends and associates. The wedding invite was sent out to a select few and certain big industry names were left out, leading to much discussion and debate.

The Bachchans later apologied to all those who were upset about not being invited to the wedding.

Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan are also grandparents to daughter Shweta Nanda's two kids -- daughter Navya Naveli and son Agastya.
