First it was Vikram who declined to promote his film Nanna, now Suriya has refused to promote his dubbed film, 7th Sense. Despite repeated calls from the production house the actor does not seem to be in the mood to visit Hyderabad to salvage the dipping fortunes of his sci-fi thriller.
Producer, Subramanyam, bought the film for Rs 12 crore and the actor refuses to play ball. “His presence will boost collections but he is claiming to be busy and has sent a promotional clipping for Andhra Pradesh, leaving us with no choice other than to give up,” rues a source in the production house.
It looks like K-town stars gauge the pulse of the Telugu audience, better than Telugu stars, since they know which film will work and which will not. If it is a commercial film, they spend big time in AP, otherwise, they’ll leave it to the producers to face the music. It’s high time, producers get wary of such gimmicks before buying films for such hefty sums.
